The remodeling project of this penthouse, in a building of great architectural value in Medellín, celebrates the magnificence of historical architecture. From its conception with a barrel vault on the top floors and bilateral windows, to its balcony and horizontal terrace, this space has been meticulously transformed through a conscious intervention.

The main challenge emerged with the decision to use the apartment as an Airbnb platform. This prompted an intervention that incorporated elements such as dark woods, a spacious kitchen, and a smoother connection with the balconies. It was decided to preserve the vault in its characteristic white, highlighting its timeless elegance. Modular carpentry and comfortable yet functional adjustments were integrated to enhance the guest experience. Additionally, modern amenities such as a sauna and study areas were added in each room.

The most notable renovation was the staircase, previously neglected. Now clad in pre-bent steel and painted in shades of orange, it becomes a vibrant and functional focal point. This project embraces a play of contrasts and is inspired by the welcoming aesthetic of the 1970s, where each element, from the vibrant orange stairs to the prominent green sofa, merges into a visual harmony that embodies the essence of contemporary design.
