In the majestic canyon of the Cauca River, between the imposing presence of the mountains and the serene flow of the river, emerges Manaku, a hotel that embraces the very essence of its surroundings in the municipality of Anzá, in southwestern Antioquia. This project embodies the philosophy of reuse and connection with the land, incorporating native materials such as stone and wood, elements that not only imbue the structure with natural beauty but also promote sustainability and lightness in its construction.

Rooted in the concept of agrotourism and respect for rural labor, Manaku stands out for its close relationship with the land and its diverse landscape. Here, hospitality, fruit cultivation—especially mangoes—and agricultural work harmoniously blend, creating an environment where tourism intertwines with rural life authentically. The design of Manaku is based on a profound understanding of topographic analysis and the optimization of available space in areas dedicated to agroecological use. Each simple stroke and irregular material highlight local craftsmanship and the conceptual avant-garde that drives this project. One of the most outstanding features is the presence of two walls that slide along the terrain, acting as a structural support for the suspended house, a bold proposal that challenges conventional architectural limits.

Flexibility and growth capability are fundamental aspects of Manaku's design. Its modular typology allows for fluid adaptation to the operator's needs, offering the possibility of expansion according to demand. However, beyond its physical structure, what truly defines this project is its welcoming identity, reinforced by abundant natural light, cross ventilation, and constant proximity to the Cauca River and its natural surroundings. Manaku is not just a hotel; it is a sustainable architecture oasis that honors the beauty and vitality of the southwestern Antioquia landscape, offering its visitors a unique experience where nature and hospitality intertwine in perfect harmony.
